Sophomore Success Checklist 

 

• Continue earning good grades (A's and B's)

• Consider taking AP, Honors, and college level courses at community college

• Focus on work and manage your time effectively

• Participate in sports, clubs, and extra-curricular activities

• Talk to your counselor about your plans for college

• Sign-up for PSAT (practice SAT) in September

• 16 year old students can obtain a work permit

• Take the CAHSEE in October

• Create a profile and receive college resources: www.collegeboard.org 

• Visit colleges over the summer

• Go to your Naviance - Family Connection account to explore career paths and colleges.  Take some time to develop your high school course plan for junior year classes.
